Summary: The South American country of Venezuela will create a new goal this year, to boost their food production by 18%. It aims to produce a substantial 25 million tons of food. Agriculture Minister Jose Luis Berroteran said Monday. this however, will depend completely on the success of the weather and the growing patterns of Venezuelan agriculture. In the absence of a devastating drought, that hurt last years output, this can be very achievable for Venezuelan farmers. “During the 1999-2013 tenure of the late President Hugo Chavez, Venezuela logged large increases in the production of maize, 43 percent; rice; 35 percent; pork, 23 percent; chicken, 47.4 percent; and milk, 11 percent” – Minister Jose Luis Berroteran. This makes the substantial feat seem more accomplishable with powerful leadership.

Relation: This goal by Venezuela to increase their production of food in 2015 related significantly to Environmental Science. This is because, Venezuela’s success in this goal very much depends on the natural occurrences in the country, such as drought or natural disaster. These all could hinder Venezuela’s success significantly.
