In Japan the NW Pacific Fish has plunged 30-40% just from the year 2016 to 2017. This resulted in nearly 75 million dollars in direct fishery losses. The regulatory restrictions imposed by the government have done nothing to stop the reducing population of NW Pacific Fish. The collapse of the NW PAcific fish has been attributed to poor Ocean Survival. Some fisherman want the government to intervene and do something about the ocean pasture restoration.

This is related to the environment due to the sudden loss of NW Pacific Fish foretelling some damage humans are doing to impact the fishs ecosystem. One possible problem is that these fish are starving at sea, which could foretell some Environmental problems with the food system. The NW Pacific Fish’s food could be dying out due to its sensitive nature in the water.

    • Hi Caroline, Thank you for reading my article. As to your question I believe that the pollution in China may be dumped into the Sea around China which is causing fish to die off

  1. It’s interesting and sort of foreshadowing that fisherman, those who have been catching the fish themselves, are now turning around and urging an increase in government intervention to protect the species balance. We don’t like to think about long-term consequences until we catch up with them and have to face them head-on. What are some ways that the government can not only prevent fishing but also spur a resurgence in the fish population?

    • I believe a way to spur a resurgence in our fishing population, is too put economic incentives on holding back in the ways of fishing.
