San Francisco is said to have hit peak saturation with the tent camps, urine, and trash that is all over the streets of the city. Mayor Mark Farrell has promised to use $750,000 to hire people to just pick up discarded needles. Within the next two years, he has also promised $13 million for steam cleaners and pit stop toilets. Citizens say that the amount of trash covering the streets of San Francisco is far too much and that it is time that people start to make a change.

This article covers the problems that San Francisco faces with keeping it’s environment clean. It discusses how people are starting to take more action in cleaning up the almost seemingly endless amounts of trash that litter the streets. As I have been to San Fransisco many times, I identify very strongly with this article. I have witnessed first hand, the trash on the streets, and the smell of urine as you walk by. I very much hope that more action is taken and people start to try and keep the streets more clean.

  1. I think that’s just amazing that the people of San Fransisco is helping to keep the environment clean. It’s nice to know that people are taking action. I totally agree with you, I’ve been to SF and honestly, there isn’t one spot that doesn’t have trash lying around and there would be trash cans beside it. Just the atmosphere there smells so bad every time I go. It’s definitely a huge problem that needs to be fixed.
