During the 2016 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, which was held Los Angeles California, an environmentally friendly technology was created and established. The Composting Toilet System is able to turn human waste into compost. The main feature is a biochamber that is able to use wood chips, which are small pieces of wood, with the circulation of air to create the compost. The Composting Toilet System is simple and has no odor when in process. The compost needs to be changed every 18 months.

Toilets can be a huge water waster and can cause droughts and gallons of water to be wasted. At this point in time, human waste can be mixed with toxic waste and into stormwater streams. This then causes more systems and money to treat this toxic waste. In the long run it is very expensive and not worth it. The Composting Toilet System reduces the cost of separating waste and toxins and turns the waste into something reusable. When directly turing  human waste into compost, it eliminates the waste stream and the toxins polluting the Earth and the Ocean.

  1. I completely agree about the amount of water toilets waste. By turning these waste into something reusable, would the cost of it be affordable? Depending on the cost of this project, we can quickly see a change from the conservation of water when finding other methods of reusing the waste and water.
