As a result of reopening Schools in Ohio in Pennsylvania mass eutrophication has been occurring in schools irrigations due to a long time of no use. Allowing bacteria to build up in pipes without being constantly flushed out from children and other faculties use. This causes the disease legionella to spawn oven effect and be a risk of infection. The hazard behind this sickness is great as it can be fatal. another urgency to this matter is that schools generally don’t have a water management plan. Leaving these types of situations prone to not ever being adhered to. Additionally most combat against coven is by turning water off in schools, leaving all taps are used for long periods. The successful combat to the situation would be to put small doses of chlorine routinely in the water system, and keeping it all taps running.

 

 Eutrophication is in an effect of contaminated rainwater reaching water sources, and other streams. Which then will cause the new bacteria to spawn mass amounts of algae. creating a no longer usable source, or area with healthy vegetation. Making it what we know as a dead zone. This is is similar to the situation of What is happening and recently reopened schools, as bacteria is clotting within pipes making the disease of legionella at a much higher risk of being caught. The legionella is acting as the algae, and the contaminated water is the source. Environmental scientists are constantly working towards more health effective substitutes to fertilizers today, showing that this is a commonly researched subject. Although one could argue that wildfires are a natural form of destruction that can be used as our Earths way of purging land to occasionally balance the ecosystem. But it is too large of a threat to human life for relaxed Point of play on the situation. Which shows the importance of the situation, if so much positive can come from a natural form of destruction. An article published by the New York Times called “Trump weakens the nation’s clean water efforts” they inform us about the recent reform of the Clean Water Act. Which was previously protecting all of the US’s streams and wetlands. The severity of this problem is drastic, as 6,000,000 miles in streams will no longer be protected. Making them extremely prone to permanent pollution. Additionally these areas will no longer be able to provide a healthy wildlife habitat. In Arizona for instance, they’re the home of the threatened Apache Trout. To begin with their streams are already extremely dry, although now they are no longer federally protected. Leaving them open to pollution that will likely never be taken care of. Or signs of damage will start to show far after their effects are reversible. They going to explain how many areas such as West Virginia, Virginia, in the Great Plains will no longer be protected under the Clean Water Act. Now when water is polluted cities downstream will have to pay to treat the drinking water, making consumption of polluted water a possibility.

 

This article’s relations environmental science starts with a reform of the Clean Water Act. Previously these streams and wetlands we’re healthy ecosystems for wildlife to thrive. Or even a closed area where researchers can do work in the field of ES. Although now many of these water sources will forever be tainted, and unusable for research consumption. In conclusion the reform of the Clean Water Act is a direct attack on environmental science. As the Trump administration is dissing our need for clean water, and research of nearby natural systems.
