In the last couple of months, countries worldwide are meeting to discuss measures taken to reduce the impacts of climate change. Despite the efforts of Elliot Diringer and Antonio Guterres, the United States president Trump still allows his countries to put out dangerous levels of C02. Luckily the green deal is gaining popularity worldwide and weakens not only North America’s effort to prevent regulations on greenhouse gases but other countries as well.

This article relates to enviromental science because we are currently seeing the impacts of climate change. Scientists have proven to the public the negatives effects of excess greenhouse gases such as ocean acidification, sea level rise, climate refugees, arctic glaciers melting; the list could go on for a mile.Excess C02 has already caused so many issues related to climate change, increasing the C02 even more could be detrimental to our enviroment. If corporations continue buring fossil fuels without regulations we are headed down a dark path, that will affect our Earth and future children.Luckily, the green deal and call for a climate summit to prevent this monster, harsh regulations are being taken, and countries are no longer waiting to see the negative impacts before taking action.

  1. So what exactly is the “green new deal”. I’ve been hearing a lot about it, and was hoping for more detail in your text. It’s from the new congress woman Ocasio-Cortez. What do you think? Does it stand a chance, or is it too radical for the mainstream? I agree with your sentiments entirely and hope that you will continue to stay interested in what’s going on with env. legislation and policy. The green deal will need that kind of support. Thanks for all your work on this topic Charlie!
