In the next few years farmers, automobile companies, and other large contributors to poor air quality will be subjected to restrictions and pushed towards biomass products. With better air public health threats such as cancer, lung problems, obesity, and heart disease will reduce as well.Unfortunately, costs are higher than anticipated leading to programs to try to reduce cost.

This relates to environmental science because, emissions of ammonia, C02,and other such pollutants are regarded as matters of great concern in the science community. Time and time again scientist have illustrated the dangers that chemicals do the soil/air, and what excess C02 and pollution do to human health. This is a great step forward, despite the cost.

  1. Sounds like a classic tragedy of the commons situation. Interesting to see the outcome, the individual polluters couldn’t organize on their own, so the govt had to step in with regulations. Do you think this is the best way forward, or is there another way?

Thanks for all the footwork following your topic this year Charlie- hope it kept you interested.
